When Ioncube is enabled, php -v shows the error “The ionCube PHP Loader is disabled because of startup problems. Segmentation fault (core dumped)”
In checking the php.ini, there were 2 instances of
zend_extension="/usr/local/IonCube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so"
in the php.ini file which was causing the issue. In checking with cPanel with regards to this issue, they suggest rebuilding apache via
/scripts/easyapache
and re-installing ioncube which may also repair the issue.
Cpanel also has an internal script for installing also which is
/scripts/phpextensionmgr install IonCubeLoader
